Welcome to The Blender

Kootenay Rockies Innovation Council (KRIC), is hosting a three-part event for Kootenay businesses in Cranbrook on Thursday, June 6, entitled, The Basin Business Blender (The Blender).

BlenderPosterWebPart one will be a hands-on marketing workshop, Breakthrough Branding: Doing Business in the Basin, from 1-5 p.m., in which business owners and managers will boost their marketing and sales performance by better developing marketplace positioning and branding strategies, forging marketing partnerships, and determining target focus.

The workshop is followed by a public networking event, complete with appetizers and cash bar, from 5-7 p.m.

At 7 p.m., the evening’s keynote, Rallying Regional Innovation: Forging Future Success in the Columbia Basin, will be delivered in the Lecture Theatre by Jim Bottomley. The keynote will explore ways to develop regional entrepreneurship, including business attraction and retention, and will showcase the foundations for regional Cluster success, including issues related to the attraction of skilled labour and investment, the connection to branding a region, and strategies to overcome barriers.

The workshop will be of high-value for entrepreneurs, and business owners and managers looking to boost their marketing and sales performance.

The keynote will also appeal to municipal officials, economic development organizations, and anyone with an interest in our region’s economic strategies.

Travel subsidies are available for entrepreneurs who would need to travel to attend. We also plan to broadcast the keynote to other College of the Rockies campuses, should there be sufficient demand.
