260 active members with Cranbrook Health Care Auxiliary

On May 10, the auxiliary celebrated Volunteer Day in B.C. Our organization has been established for one 111 years and in the last 11 years we have contributed $3,153,728. This year alone our commitment to purchase leading edge equipment for the East Kootenay Regional Hospital was $803,000 due to the wonderful bequest of $840,000, which we received from our deceased member Ethel Zentner.

Our auxiliary volunteers here in Cranbrook  provided over 40,000 volunteer hours (equals $600,000 in wages) working at the Thrift Store on 8th Avenue, the Gift Shop in the hospital and providing patient comfort and care in the Ambulatory Care, Diagnostic Imaging and Oncology Departments.

We also provide an information desk at the entrance of the hospital. And last but not least we are a 100% volunteer force with 260 active members and most importantly we have NO paid staff.

We would like to thank our wonderful donors and patrons for their support in helping us to achieve this success.
