Relay for Life team holding unique fundraiser
It isn’t often that a team entered in an annual Relay for Life fundraiser will hold a special public concert to raise funds for the fight against cancer.
On May 23 (Wednesday at 7 p.m.) the Mount Baker Vocal Alumni are hosting a fundraising concert at Rotary Park.
“We’ve decided to put on a great concert (by donation!) to raise some major funds for a great cause – to fight back against cancer. This is going to be a great concert featuring soloists, maybe a duet or two, and some fantastic group numbers!” said alumni member Delaney Kunitz, back from Victoria following another year in university.
“We would be absolutely so grateful if you would all come out, bring your lawn chairs, support, and some spare change and listen to some great music! We’ve all been affected by cancer in one way or another, and we’ve decided to fight back! Come on out and join us to rally together for the Relay for Life!” Kunitz stated in the group’s Facebook invitation (https://www.facebook.com/events/333139896756977/?notif_t=plan_user_invited ).
The concert will be held at the gazebo in Rotary Park.
