Roller derby ex to help raise funds for Coal Miner Days

The Sparwood Coal Miner Days Society and District of Sparwood are teaming up to present a fundraising evening for the annual community party.

It’s going to be the Lumberjacks versus the Coal Miners in East Kootenay Roller Derby League action.

Billed as “the unmissable event of the year,” the rock ‘em, sock ‘em roller derby action begins at 7 p.m. at the Sparwood Recreation Centre, on Saturday, April 21. Doors open at 6 p.m.

“Don’t delay in getting tickets as this event sold out fast in Marysville. There are 700 tickets available for sale at the following locations,” noted Renee MacCormack, Coal Miner Days Society president.

Tickets are available at the Sparwood Chamber of Commerce, Sparwood Recreation Centre, East Kootenay Community Credit Union in Sparwood, Alpine Lumber, Sparwood Husky and The Elk Valley Herald in the mall. Or you can call 250-425-2431 to book tickets. Ask for Laura Jordan.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-18 and under 5 is free!
