Super shine at Mopars in the Mountains
It was good old time – or classic – fun in Cranbrook the weekend of July 15 to 17.
The annual Mopars in the Mountains classic car show heaped a healthy helping of beautiful machines from previous eras on the city and surrounding roadways.
Moir Park was the site of the event, which was bigger and better than ever, with an enormous variety of cars and trucks from the 1920s to the 1980s.
Kicking things off, following registration, was the Friday night drive-in at Moir, with a showing of Fast and Furious 5.
On Saturday, entrants toured their labours of passion around the city for folks to see and then parked on at Moir Park for the free car show.
Thanks to the blazing, sunny day, the shiners’ efforts were well rewarded. A steady stream of onlookers took in the several hundred vehicles in the show. Awards were handed out after 4:30 p.m.
