Have you always wanted to learn to tie your own flies? What fly’s work for fishing in our area? Do you want to learn & compare methods from other Fly fisherman enthusiasts?
NOW is your chance!
The Fly Tying Club will meet every other Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 pm starting November 4th. (In the Teen area tables)
We are excited to partner with the Rocky Mountain Fly Fishers on this program.
This is a FREE event but you are encouraged to purchase the following supplies to get you started as supplies are NOT included.
For beginner fly tying, you’ll need a good quality vise, bobbin holder, and sharp scissors, along with a whip finisher, hackle pliers, and a bodkin. You will also need basic materials like thread (in black, tan, and red), wire, and a few fly patterns’ worth of other materials like hackle and dubbing. Starter kits are a convenient way to get many of these items at once.
Registration is required (your first attendance only so we have an idea of numbers & space required) by emailing Shellie at [email protected] or calling the Library at 250-426-4063 as space is limited.
For more information you may also contact Mandy Martini at [email protected] or Shellie at the Cranbrook Public Library.
We look forward to hosting you.
