140 projects to get funding
2013/2014 CBT Community Initiatives and Affected Areas Programs funding approved
The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) board of directors June 7 approved funding for 140 projects around the region over the coming year.
The funding comes from Columbia Basin Trust’s (CBT) Community Initiatives and Affected Areas Programs, which are administered by the RDEK.

“We approved a total of $1,014,490 this year,” says RDEK Board Chair Rob Gay. ““I want to thank CBT for providing this funding for the region and supporting so many different community based projects that could not happen without this support. I also want to acknowledge the volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring these projects to reality.”
After considering public input and recommendations from the municipalities and Electoral Area Directors, the board approved the funding at its June board meeting.
Columbia Basin Trust supports efforts by the people of the Basin to create a legacy of social, economic and environmental well-being and to achieve greater self-sufficiency for present and future generations. To learn more about CBT visit www.cbt.org.
