Another sizable drug seizure by RCMP

The Cranbrook/ Kimberley RCMP Crime Reduction Unit with help from Creston General Investigation Section continues to make strides in keeping drugs off the streets of Cranbrook and Kimberley.

On March 2, at around 10:30 p.m. the Crime Reduction Unit, along with Police Dog Service and General Duty RCMP officers conducted a stop of a vehicle travelling on the highway from Creston. The car was stopped at JimSmith Lake Road, and as a result of information received, a high-risk take down of the vehicle was conducted.

A 33-year-old female resident of Cranbrook was driving the vehicle and was arrested. A 23-year-old male was located in the trunk of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle located a substantial amount of cocaine. Cranbrook RCMP is requesting charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking against both occupants of the vehicle.
