Arrest yields cocaine and amphetamines
A search incidental to arrest of an 18-year-old male in Kimberley on Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 21) located cocaine and other drugs.
Cranbrook and Kimberley RCMP arrested the male on 4th Avenue for Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. A search located two grams of cocaine along with 11 capsules purported to be amphetamine.
Amphetamine is a controlled substance and although available by prescription it is an offence to sell it.
The subject went before a Judicial Justice of the Peace by way of teleconference. He was released on conditions including to be inside his residence from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., report to a bail supervisor and not to possess a cell phone outside his residence.
He will appear in Cranbrook Provincial Court on February 17.
