Be ready for winter conditions on highways

The long slow melt that we’ve been enjoying in the East Kootenay has been interrupted by a late winter system that is dumping snow in the high country and giving the lower areas some reminders it is still only the beginning of March.
Most regional highways this evening are either snow covered or wet with slushy sections so please take care if you must drive.

According to DriveBC, heavy snowfall is occurring between Cranbrook and Wardner, bringing limited visibility as well. Limited visibility is also to be expected on Highway 95A between Cranbrook and Kimberley.
Regional highways have compact snow and slushy sections this evening including between Goatfel and the Alberta border along Highway 3 this evening.
