Cheryl Casimer (pictured above) will return as Chief of Aqam (St. Mary’s Indian Band) on the strength of a single vote.

Casimer’s 80 votes, one more than Jim Whitehead’s 79, were enough to ensure re-election in yesterday’s (Oct. 24) election.

Capturing council seats are Whitehead and Richard (Marty) Williams, who received 71 votes.

Rounding out the election results, Rod Birdstone received 33 votes, Troy Hunter, 29, and Remus Clement with 20 votes.
