City launches eNewsletter to better reach public
Getting the latest information and news about the City of Cranbrook is now as easy as checking your inbox.
Beginning last week, residents can sign up through the city’s website for a weekly electronic newsletter to be delivered right to your email. You can also sign up right here on this e-KNOW page (see below).
“People lead busy lives and don’t always have the time to read the paper, listen to the radio or visit our website to stay up-to-date on what we as council and the city are busy with on your behalf,” says Mayor Lee Pratt. “This eNewsletter will allow the city to deliver that information right to you to read when it works for you.”
Once you register, the City of Cranbrook will provide you with information and updates on city news and announcements, public open houses, public hearings, council meeting dates, job opportunities along with other important dates and events. On top of this, the city will also send breaking news and time sensitive emergency information as it happens in the event of an accident or incident that may affect you, your family or your business.
Registration uses a double opt-in sign up process, which means you sign up through the city website, the email system then sends an email asking for your confirmation that you do in fact want these emails. This process is compliant with the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), which came into effect on July 1, 2014.
“We certainly hope people find this newsletter useful and informative,” says Chris Zettel, Corporate Communications Officer for the City of Cranbrook. “If at any time you no longer want these emails, simply click unsubscribe at the bottom of the eNewsletter emails that you receive from us. It is just that easy.”
To sign up, please visit www.cranbrook.ca and click on the ‘Contact Us’ link at the top of the page and click “eNewsletter Sign Up.”
