City warns of possible decrease in water pressure

City of Cranbrook residents may notice a decrease in water pressure tomorrow and Wednesday (Feb. 28 and 29).

The city issued an alert this morning (Feb. 27) noting that residents and businesses may notice “a slight decrease in water pressure” those days as Public Works water personnel work to install some new metering at the water intake below the Phillips Reservoir.
Residents and business should not experience any lack of water to their properties during the work.
Residents and businesses may also notice a slight discolouration in the water, once the work is complete and pressure is increased back to normal operating levels. This discolouration in the water is not considered a health concern, reported city corporate communications officer Chris Zettel.
“Those who experience any discolouration are encouraged to run the cold water tap in their home or business until the water runs clear,” he recommended.
