The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a girl who died following a skiing incident at Panorama Mountain Village on Feb. 20.

She was Rachel Dawn Deugau, aged 12, of Langham, Saskatchewan, a small community located 35 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.

Rachel was skiing with family members at the Panorama when, late in the morning of Feb. 20, she lost control and skied into trees at the side of the run.

She was transported by air ambulance to hospital in Invermere, but could not be resuscitated.
