Double stabbing suspect sought
Police are requesting the assistance from the community in identifying a male suspect in a double stabbing that occurred in Cranbrook on June 16.

Just before 4 a.m. on Sunday, June 16, Cranbrook RCMP responded to a report of a double stabbing in the area of 17th Avenue and 8th Street North, Cranbrook.
Investigation revealed two Cranbrook residents were walking in the area when they were approached by an unknown male who accused them of property crime in the area.
The unknown male became increasingly belligerent leading to an unprovoked attack on both victims. It was only after the unknown male departed the victims realized they were bleeding and had been cut by some sort of edged weapon. The victims were transported to East Kootenay Regional Hospital by BC Ambulance Service and were treated for their injuries. The injuries are described as serious but, not life threatening.
Cranbrook RCMP is seeking the assistance of anyone who may have observed or heard anything suspicious in the early morning hours in that area. Though this was an unprovoked attack by a stranger, Cranbrook RCMP believes it may be a case of mistaken identity associated to a specific incident.
