Eight crashes in five hours due to extreme conditions
Cranbrook RCMP has issued a public notice advising motorists to drive with caution due to extreme road conditions.

RCMP officers have responded to eight collisions in a matter of five hours so far today (Dec. 28).
“Collisions have been caused by extreme road conditions and speed. Highway 3/93, Highway 95A and Highway 3/95 are extremely slippery and motorists are asked to use caution while driving. Cranbrook RCMP is suggesting that unless it is absolutely necessary to travel, that people stay off the roads until conditions improve,” advised Cst. Brad Sabo of the Cranbrook RCMP Detachment this afternoon.

DriveBC also reports that Highway 3 is reduced to single lane alternating traffic due to a vehicle recovery 10 km east of the Highway 93 junction.
All regional highways have slippery sections, compact snow and slush.
