Election interest remains higher
It was another brisk day of advance voting in Cranbrook on Thursday – the second of three advance poll dates for the 2014 Municipal Election, where 506 registered and new voters cast their ballots.
Add that to the record breaking 713 advance voters on Wednesday, and a total of 1,219 people have cast ballots so far.
That is compared to a total of 838 advance voters over the first two days of advance voting in the 2011 election campaign.
Mail-in ballots are also up in 2014, with over 100 mail-in ballots received so far with a week remaining in the election campaign. Only 45 mail-in ballots were received in total in the 2011 election.
