Well Elko — we did it! Our fundraising efforts have been successful, and we are thrilled to share that in December we secured a $200,000 grant from the Columbia Basin Trust.

Installation of the new playground and multi-use recreation pad will begin in June, and the space will be located next to the Elko Hall.

Over the coming weeks, our committee will be organizing and connecting with everyone who generously offered in-kind donations of equipment and materials. For those who purchased a bench, we will be in contact closer to the installation date.

We are also planning a few more community fundraising events to help cover the remaining funds required for final items of the project.

Once everything is finalized, we look forward to sharing many well-deserved thank-yous with the incredible individuals and businesses who helped make this happen.

We can’t thank the community enough for your support and enthusiasm throughout this process. It’s going to be a wonderful addition to Elko — just in time for summer.
