The wildfire about 10 kilometres east of the Village of Canal Flats has now led to some access road closures. BC Parks Staff are also in the midst of evacuating people from Whiteswan Provincial Park.

The access road closures are as follows:
1. Main Whiteswan Forest Service Road from the Highway 93/95 junction.
2. Main Kootenay FSR rd. from the 3 km to the 34.5 (junction of Whiterock and Kootenay FSR).
3. The White-Rock FSR

The Wildfire Management Branch is conducting a full response to this fire, including four helicopters, three water tenders supporting 50 personnel on the ground.
