Invermere man arrested for July 27 stabbing
Columbia Valley RCMP officers were called to a serious assault charge at a residence in the 1300 block of 17th Street in Invermere at 1:12 a.m. July 27.
During a physical disturbance a male was stabbed in the abdomen and throat area.
While police were en route to the complaint the hospital contacted them advising they had a 28-year-old male with stab wounds being attended to.
It was determined that an altercation took place at which time a 20-year-old male from Invermere and the male in the hospital got into a physical confrontation resulting in the stab wounds.
Police attended to the residence and arrested the 20-year-old male and seized evidence from the residence. Both males were intoxicated at the time of the altercation.
The male will recover from the stab wounds. At present time the assailant is charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon.
The male was released from custody with several conditions. The investigation is continuing.
