Kilo of marijuana seized during traffic stop
On June 2, just before 2 a.m., Kimberley RCMP seized over 1,000 grams of marijuana from a vehicle during a road check on Highway 95A.
Officers were conducting a check stop on Highway 95A north of Marysville when a vehicle turned around prior to the road check. Officers caught up to the vehicle and while dealing with the occupants noted an odor of marijuana. The subjects were arrested and a search of the vehicle conducted.
In addition to marijuana, police seized cash and drug related items. Two males from Edmonton, Alta. (23 and 24) face charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. They were released on a $1,000 bail for court in August.
