Kootenay Savings continues giving tradition

Christmas came a little early this year for 16 diverse and dedicated community groups, thanks to the Kootenay Savings Community Foundation.

In keeping with the credit union’s proud tradition of investing in the well-being of those that live, work and play in the Kootenays, the Foundation is excited to announce $23,000 in new grants, as well as a total donation of $50,000 to be shared between eight local community foundations in the region.

Local/regional organizations receiving funds include: Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy; Columbia Valley Arts Council
; Columbia Valley Community Foundation; Columbia Valley Greenways Alliance;
 Columbia Valley Search & Rescue;
Kimberley Nature Park Society;
Kimberley & District Community Foundation.

Established in 2000 by Kootenay Savings to support non-profit cultural, economic, educational, environmental, health and social projects, nearly $4 million in grants, endowments and bursaries have been distributed.
