Lake Koocanusa OCP going to public hearing

Lake Koocanusa area residents are expected to fill the Grasmere Pioneer Hall Feb. 25 when the Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) unveils its first Official Community Plan (OCP) and zoning regulation bylaws during a public hearing.

Electoral Area B Director Heath Slee said he expects to hear plenty of feedback about the OCP and Bylaws 2432 and 2433, which received unanimous board approval for the first two readings Feb. 1.

The OCP establishes a long-range vision for land use in the Lake Koocanusa area and the zoning bylaw regulates land development. The public hearing on the bylaws is scheduled for February 25 at 7 p.m. in the Grasmere Pioneer Hall.
