Lento re-elected board chair
The School District No. 5 (SD5) Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the unanimous re-election of Fernie resident Trustee Frank Lento (pictured above) as board chair at the Dec. 11 board meeting. This position is elected each December.

That the Board of Education refer the package of documents relating to WiFi in schools to Don McRae, Minister of Education; Dr. Andrew Larder, Senior Medical Health Officer, Interior Health Authority; Margaret MacDiarmid, Health Minister; Stephanie Cadieux, Minister of Children and Family Development; and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission for comment.

That the Board receive Mr. McPhee’s Review of Traffic and Parking Issues: Schools in Cranbrook of December 10th, 2012 and that it be posted to the SD5 website and shared with the City of Cranbrook and DPAC/PACs for feedback.
To approve the Superintendent’s Report on Achievement 2012/13, to submit the report to the Minister of Education and to make the report available to the public.
Capital Project Bylaw – Project No. 115757 School Bus Replacement (expenditure of $270,262).
That the board donate to the Salvation Army’s Christmas Hamper program in the amount of $1,000 in Cranbrook and $700 in Fernie. This represents a donation of $100 on behalf of each of the SD5 schools in lieu of a gift to the staff of each school.
