The Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, will officially visit the City of Cranbrook on Thursday, September 5 and Friday, Sept. 6.

During her visit to the community Her Honour will be making several stops including Laurie Middle School, Joseph Creek Care Village and the Cranbrook Royal Canadian Legion.

“I very much appreciate the Lieutenant Governor accepting our invitation to visit Cranbrook and the East Kootenay,” says Mayor Wayne Stetski. “It is a real honour to share our city with her and to provide her with the opportunity to meet a few of our wonderful citizens.”

The itinerary of Her Honour will be as follows:

12 p.m. – Arrive in Cranbrook;

12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. – Lunch with Mayor Stetski, council and senior city staff;

2 p.m. – 3 p.m. – Visit with Laurie Middle School students;

3:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. – Visit residents of Joseph Creek Care Village;

4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. – 
Visit with members of Cranbrook Legion Branch #24.

The itinerary of Her Honour on Friday September 6 will be as follows:


10 a.m. – Visit Clear Sky Grassland Reclamation Plot and Food Forest tour;

12:30 p.m. – Visit Fort Steele Heritage Town;

2:30 p.m. – Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award Ceremony at Royal Alexandra Hall at Canadian Museum of Rail Travel.

The Lieutenant Governor is also visiting Elkford and Fernie on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
