Miracle on Baker Street this Friday

This Friday is forecasted to reach a brisk high of 2 °C. But that won’t stop 21 influential community leaders and Cranbrook business owners from stripping down to their Christmas undies and braving the cold to raise $20,000 in support of the Salvation Army’s efforts to build a 24/7 shelter in Cranbrook for homeless men, women, and families throughout the East Kootenay.

Miracle on Baker Street participants have been actively seeking donations over the last month from their family, friends, colleagues, and the public.  Let’s hope the guys have been feeling the love – and by love we mean cold hard cash – as each participant will bring their donations to the event and be required to hand over massive amounts of money every half hour in order to gain access to entertaining ‘warm-up’ activities, sponsored by a local business.

It’s a matter of life and frostbite. Meanwhile, the public can come down and make their own financial contribution to the cause, helping to meet an hourly fundraising goal, which, if achieved, will keep the participants exposed to the elements and donating another additional hour.

During Miracle on Baker Street, be sure to tune into The Drive FM and B104 Total Country from noon to 4 p.m., as the entire event will be broadcasted and listeners will have exclusive opportunities to contribute to the event and win prizes.

Miracle on Baker Street takes place noon to 4 p.m. in front of the Bedroom Furniture Galleries, downtown Cranbrook.

It is presented by B-104 Total Country and The Drive FM in association with e-know.ca. Mr. Mike’s Casual Steakhouse will be on location offering barbecue burgers by donation, so be sure to swing by, grab lunch, and take in some of the hilarity and fun!

Participants include:

Help keep these brave souls warm on Friday afternoon (Dec. 11) and help raise funds for a much-needed homeless shelter for the East Kootenay.
