One week left to complete Urban Deer Resident Survey

There is just one week left to participate in the Urban Deer Resident Survey for the City of Cranbrook. So far over 1,100 responses have been received, both online and through the paper versions of the survey available at City Hall.

The deadline to participate in the survey is Friday March 28 at 4:30 p.m.

“I am overwhelmed with the responses we’ve been getting to the survey,” says Chris Zettel, Corporate Communications Officer for the City of Cranbrook. “Sifting through some of the responses and reviewing some of the early data, we are getting input from each end of the spectrum when it comes to urban deer management issues.”

Residents can access the survey online on the City’s website – www.cranbrook.ca and click on ‘Urban Deer Resident Survey’ under City of Cranbrook Links on the homepage. Residents without access to a computer, printed versions of the survey will be available for pick up at reception at City Hall during regular business hours.

Residents requesting a paper copy must provide photo identification with a City of Cranbrook mailing address to be able to get a survey. Completed surveys can be mailed back to City Hall or dropped off by the 4:30 p.m. Friday March 28 deadline. Postmarks will not be accepted. Completed surveys must be received at City Hall by the deadline date. Late submissions will be disqualified.

“In the end, I think council and the Urban Deer Committee will get a lot of good information out of this exercise,” Zettel says. “I really want to thank everyone who has taken the time to fill out the survey.”

City staff expects the final survey results will be presented to Mayor and Council in early May.
