Radium Transfer Station now open

The Regional District of East Kootenay’s (RDEK) newest transfer station opened July 2 in Radium Hot Springs, following a brief morning ceremony.

Bring your household waste and recyclables from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. seven days a week except for Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Remembrance Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Family Day.

In addition to the collection of household waste, the Transfer Station will provide a new, convenient option for Radium and Area G residents to dispose of their waste and access a wide range of new recycling opportunities, including:

  • a full Recycle BC Depot;
  • Household Hazardous Waste Depot;
  • used oil recycling;
  • electronics recycling;
  • areas for the recycling of white good;
  • propane tanks and batteries; and,
  • dedicated bins for the drop off of green waste, metals, and wood waste.

The Radium Transfer Station is located off of Forsters Landing Road, in an industrial area near the wastewater plant and Canfor log yard.
