The aims of this strategy are to encourage more permanent residency in the Columbia Valley leading to a more skilled and diverse labour force, increasing economic growth and entrepreneurship, becoming an innovative and creative community that attracts millennials, families, and retirees, and increasing school enrolment within all valley communities.

“We are looking for input from current permanent residents, former residents, part time/seasonal residents, visitors – basically everyone,” stated District of Invermere Mayor Gerry Taft on Facebook.

Love living in Invermere and the valley? Or wish you could find away to live here year round? Have ideas on what could make living here year round better or possible? Please take a minute to fill out this online survey and consider attending a public session in the valley Tuesday, Jan. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce office at 651 Highway 93/95.

There is also a session – Calgary – Columbia Valley Permanent Resident Retention and Attraction Strategy – being held in Calgary for second-home owners Wednesday, Jan. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Grey Eagle Casino 3777 Grey Eagle Drive.
