Scott Niedermayer to be honoured by city

One of the most accomplished and decorated hockey players in the history of the game is going to receive another honour.
The City of Cranbrook is going to celebrate the career and the accomplishments of Scott Niedermayer with the unveiling of a commemorative bronze plaque before the Kootenay ICE and Spokane Chiefs game on Dec. 27.
Niedermayer will participate in a ceremonial puck drop at centre ice, city officials report.
The ceremony will take place Friday, December 27 at 7 p.m. at Western Financial Place.
