SD5 Notes
The following are motions carried by the School District No. 5 (SD5) school board of trustees during the December 11, 2012 board meeting in Cranbrook.
Committee meetings are not scheduled for the month of December. As a result, only general motions were carried at January’s public board meeting.
Motions carried
Three readings of the annual budget.
In June the board sends a preliminary budget to government based on projected incomes and expenditures for the upcoming school year (2012/2013). In January the budget is finalized based on actual income (ie: funding based on enrolment etc.) and expenditures of the current school year.
To accept the annual Statement of Financial Information (SOFI) for year ended June 30, 2012.
The external auditors of BDO Canada LLP conduct an independent examination in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards and express their opinion on the financial statements as required by the School Act.
