On January 29, at 2:24 p.m., Cranbrook RCMP received a report of shots fired near the intersection of 14th Avenue N and Baker Street, Cranbrook.

Nearby schools and businesses were advised as RCMP members rushed to the scene.

The source of the concerning sounds was later attributed to construction in the area.
