“The Sustainable Community Builder Award is presented to an individual, group, club, agency or society in recognition of outstanding contributions to the social, arts, cultural, economic or environmental sustainability of the City of Cranbrook,” explained Mayor Wayne Stetski.

CDCF executive director Riley Wilcox says the importance the city gives the award is a reflection of the commitment of the citizens of Cranbrook to strengthen our community.

“The Sustainable Community Builder Award values our greatest resource, our citizens. Without their efforts our community would not shine as brightly as it does. They are the heart of our city,” Wilcox said.

Past winners include the Cranbrook Health Care Auxiliary (2012), Chris Ayling (2011), the Cranbrook Farmers’ Market Society (2010) and Debbie Sinclair of Big Brothers and Sisters (2009).

Application forms and eligibility criteria are available at city hall, on the city’s website www.cranbrook.ca; look to your right below “City of Cranbrook links”; or go to www.cranbrookcf.ca .

The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, April 30.
