Temporary time changes to Sparwood’s Emergency Department

District of Sparwood and area residents are advised of changes to the normal 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily hours at the emergency department due to limited physician availability.

The Sparwood Emergency Department is only open today (Oct. 10) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and also on Wednesday, October 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sparwood’s Emergency Department was also closed Sunday, Oct. 7.

Except for these dates, the Emergency Department will be open its normal hours.

Sparwood and Elkford residents should take note of the following if they require care when the emergency department is closed:

In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1.

People who require non-urgent care can go to emergency department in Fernie (24/7).

If individuals are unsure about what services they require, call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1.
The toll-free line provides 24-hour, confidential health information and advice from a registered nurse.

Interior Health regrets these temporary changes to usual service.
