Three hospitalized in Greenhills flash fire
Three employees were sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a flash fire at Teck Resources Limited’s (Teck) Greenhills Operation near Elkford this morning.
Teck reported that a flash fire occurred in the dryer complex at 11 a.m. April 5.
“The fire was quickly extinguished. All employees, visitors and contractors at site have been accounted for. Three employees have received non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the incident is not known at this time. Appropriate regulatory authorities have been notified and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the incident. There is no major impact to the operation,” the company stated in its release.
No names of employees or information as to where they are from was released.
