Urban deer survey closed Friday
As of 9:30 a.m. March 27, the City of Cranbrook had received about 1,477 urban deer survey responses, both online and via the paper copies available at City Hall – averaging about 100 responses a day.
“We received 1,470 responses to the last survey we did in 2010, so I’m very happy with the public participation,” noted Chris Zettel, Cranbrook’s Corporate Communications Officer.
“Once the survey closes, staff in our IT department will go through all the survey data and prepare a final report for council. Due to some upcoming staff holiday time and other projects over the next month, the survey results won’t be made public until council receives them at their regular meeting on Monday, May 12. If our IT department can turn the report around sooner, we will certainly provide it to council earlier than May 12,” he reported.
“Once council receives the report we will also post the results on our website. I cannot provide anything in the way of trends in the early results yet, simply because council does need to receive them first,” Zettel explained.
There is still time to take the survey and cast your voice into the basket.
