Cranbrook RCMP are advising the motoring public to exercise extreme caution on East Kootenay highways this evening.

The recent heavy rainfall combined with temperatures quickly dropping below zero has led to slippery road conditions.

For those who choose to drive, please calibrate your driving for winter conditions by reducing speed and allowing for more stopping distance.
