Be advised that City of Cranbrook Public Works has blocked off 9^th Avenue South at Baker Street due to a water leak this afternoon.

Traffic is able to get onto and use Baker Street coming off of Highway 3 at 9^th Avenue.   All vehicles should avoid the area and use alternate routes.  The area is barricaded.
Public Works will be shutting off water to all businesses on Baker Street between 9^th Avenue and 10^th Avenue South, effective at 5 p.m.   Following the water shutoff, Public Works will be shutting down the entire 9^th Avenue South/Baker Street intersection to dig up the street to find and repair the leak.
If the excavation and repair goes well, the water should be back on and the intersection reopened by late this evening.  It is expected the intersection will be usable Friday morning.
