Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) Electoral Area G voters can stay home Nov. 15.

Because no one opted to run against incumbent director Gerry Wilkie, the Edgewater resident will begin his third term in office in mid November.

“I am pleased to have another term ahead,” Wilkie told e-KNOW, adding familiarity with regional government staff and the board continue to make the work productive and interesting.

He added is looking forward “to be able to have the help of the outstanding staff of the RDEK and working on community and individual issues in Area G, and to continue working constructively with the other Columbia Valley directors and the corporate board of the RDEK.”
