A wind chill warning has been issued for Kootenay National Park and Yoho National Park.

According to a Canadian Government warning issued at 9:39 a.m., extreme wind chill values below minus 35 will continue this morning.

“This is a warning that extreme wind chill conditions are occurring in these regions,” notes the government alert.

Arctic air combining with brisk winds will give extreme wind chill values below minus 35 for Yoho Park and Kootenay Park this morning. The extremely cold conditions are expected to moderate this afternoon as temperatures rise.
