WorkSafeBC holding public hearing in Cranbrook

In early October, WorkSafeBC will hold public hearings across the province on the proposed new Lower Maximum Administrative Penalty Regulation (OHS Citations) and changes to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation relating to Employer Incident Investigations.

The public hearings, including one in Cranbrook on Oct.8, provide stakeholders with an opportunity to comment on the proposed regulatory amendments and the OHS Citations Policy.

WorkSafeBC welcomes feedback on the proposals either through written submissions or participation at the oral public hearings. All feedback received will be presented to the Board of Directors of WorkSafeBC for their consideration.

The hearings are part of a regulatory process to hear from all interested parties into the following matters:

OHS Citations: Proposed New Lower Maximum Administrative Penalty Regulation (LMAPR);

Consequential Amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (OHSR) relating to Employer Incident Investigations.

All public hearings will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Cranbrook hearing on Oct. 8 is via video conference from the Community Futures East Kootenay office at 110A Slater Road NW.
