Barenaked Ladies returning to Cranbrook

Traditionally an arena act, the Barenaked Ladies, with special guest, will perform a series of intimate theatre shows in November, as part of their Cross Canada 1-FIVE-0 Tour.

Cranbrook’s Key City Theatre will host the band on Wednesday, November 8 at 8 p.m.

“To see and hear a band of this stature in an intimate setting such as the Key City Theatre will make for a truly memorable night of entertainment. It will be a great way to again celebrate our 25th Anniversary as a theatre, while we celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday,” said Galen Olstead Managing Director of the theatre.

The Barenaked Ladies are still together after nearly three decades. In that time frame they have produced 14 studio albums, which have collectively sold more than 14 million copies. They also have won eight Juno Awards, earned multiple Grammy nominations, and have had a U.S. chart topping single (One Week) and the theme song to one of television’s most popular shows, ‘The Big Bang Theory.’

“I don’t think there’s a secret,” Ed Robertson explained to People Magazine last year, when asked how BNL managed to not only survive, but thrive, while continuing to sell out venues wherever they go. “It’s work. You’ve got to respect each other, you have got to give each other space, but you also have to support each other. We wanted to keep making music.”

BNL have most recently done a special collaboration with the legendary ‘Kings of A Capella,’ The Persuasions, with an album simply titled, Ladies and Gentlemen, Bare Naked Ladies and the Persuasions. It is set to be released on April 14. The album features 14 tracks with BNL’s award-winning catalogue and the classic ‘Good Times.’

The Barenaked Ladies 1-FIVE-0 Tour tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, March 17 at 10 a.m.

All seats are reserved for this event. You can purchase tickets at the Key City Theatre Box office or by phone at 250-426-7006, or on line at keycitytheatre.com.
