AVIVA accepts Valley Centre funding idea
The Columbia Valley Centre fundraising committee reports it is pleased that its application for a grant for a state-of-the-art projector and screen was accepted by AVIVA Corporation.
The Columbia Valley Centre Projector and Screen is now part of a competition that will see AVIVA distribute $1,000,000 to communities across Canada.
Now the real work comes into play; getting votes to win the funding.
“The Projector and Screen Project must receive at least 15,000 website votes to move to the funding step. This is where our community can help. Your votes are very important. It’s easy and it’s free,” the Columbia Valley Centre fundraising committee explained. “We have applied to AVIVA for $72,000. If the project receives enough votes, a panel will award all or part of the request. Securing this grant will make a significant difference to funding technical equipment for the Centre.”
If you have a few minutes, register and cast your 18 votes (full number allowed). Voting is open between Oct. 11 and 28.
Only 833 people need to vote 18 times to secure 15,000 votes. For folks outside the valley community, the Columbia Valley Centre is a project that has been in-the-making for a long time and only shear determination and multi-community cooperation has allowed it to proceed. Now well under construction, the project still needs funding help. So help a neighbouring community out and send some click-love the Columbia Valley’s way.
