Brisco and Golden team for Funday Challenge

Ghosties, ghoulies, a unicorn and a knight on his noble steed whipped around posts and raced to the finish on Oct. 14 at the Brisco Riding Arena.
The Brisco Riding Club (BRC) held its annual Funday Challenge with the Golden Light Horse Club with a little added fun: a costume theme.
With the hot weather and smoke from fires this year, rescheduling brought the last outdoor event close to Halloween and the 39 entrants from the two clubs went all out.
“We switch up the location (with Golden) every year, and this year was our turn,” said Amanda Jopp, BRC president.
The trophy for most points from the challenge also switches up fairly often, with the BRC, formed in 1991, taking back the honours this year.
But while this was the last riding event of the season, it is not the last gathering.
The awards night and pot luck is scheduled for Nov. 24 at the Brisco Hall starting at 5:30 p.m.
“Everyone is welcome,” said Jopp. “We just ask everyone bring as dish as it is a potluck, and admission is by donation.”
