Busy weekend for CVSAR
This past Sunday (May 14) Columbia Valley Search and Rescue (CVSAR) was called out to two back-to-back incidents.
Members first assisted BC Ambulance Service with a medical response on a local hiking trail by helping to transport the patient.
Shortly after another call came in for an injured paraglider on Lake Windermere.
A team responded with the help of Glacier Helicopters Invermere (pictured) and transported the patient to the awaiting BC Ambulance Service.
These callouts, as well as the lost hiker on Saturday, made for a busy weekend for CVSAR.
“As the spring weather turns to summer and days are long, lots of folks are getting out and recreating. Remember the Three T’s of @bcadvsmart ; Trip Planning, Training and Taking the essentials. And If you need help, call 9-1-1,” CVSAR noted on social media.
