Columbia Valley RCMP Report
This past week, December 31 through January 6, Columbia Valley RCMP responded to 74 calls for service. The following are some of the more notable files our officers responded to.
Steps napper arrested for being intoxicated in a public place
On December 31, at 12 p.m., Columbia Valley RCMP received a report that a male was lying down on the front step of a vacant house on Upper Lakeview Road in Invermere. Officers attended and located an intoxicated male who said he was just resting in the sunshine. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and provided a warm cell for the evening.
Witnesses to altercation sought
On January 1, at 2:40 a.m., a 21-year-old male was involved in an altercation with three men after being kicked out of the Uller Bar in Invermere. The 21-year-old-male was taken to the hospital to be assessed. Anyone who witnessed the altercation or can identify those involved is asked to contact the Columbia Valley RCMP.
Man arrested for breaching conditions
On January 1 officers attended a residence in Invermere to ensure an adult male was complying with his probation conditions. Officers located the male inside the residence, which was a breach of his conditions. The male was arrested for breaching his conditions and was held for court.
Male checking car doors
On January 3, at 1:30 a.m., Columbia Valley RCMP received a report that a male, wearing an orange and blue striped toque, gloves, a black jacket and jeans, was trying vehicle doors in the 800 block of 10th Avenue in Invermere. Officers patrolled the area but were not able to locate the male.
Rock thrown through window
On January 6 police were advised someone had thrown a rock through the window of the Red Apple store in Invermere sometime during the night. An officer examined the scene and determined there was no entry into the business. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Columbia Valley RCMP.
