On Saturday, July 23, Columbia Valley Search and Rescue (CVSAR) responded to a report of a downed paraglider on Mt. Swansea. With the help of Glacier Helicopters Invermere, a team searched the area but found no evidence of a crash site nor additional reports.

All evidence led to a paraglider performing aerial acrobatics and the search was stood down, CVSAR reported.

“Don’t hesitate to call 9-1-1 if you see someone in need of help or suspect they are in need. We would rather have a positive outcome and be stood down than miss helping those in need,” CVSAR stated on social media.

“CVSAR would like to thank all those who support us in what we do as well as those who call for our help when they or someone else, is in need.”
