Evacuation Order and Alert for Cross River area
Yearling Creek Wildfire expands to 1,150 hectares
The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK), has issued an EVACUATION ORDER for three dwellings in the Cross River area as strong winds over the past 24 hours fuelled the Yearling Creek wildfire.
The ORDER includes Nipika Mountain Resort, Cross River Education & Retreat Centre, Cross River Forest Service Road, and Cross River Canyon Recreation Site.
In addition, an Evacuation ALERT has been issued for six dwellings on Settler’s Road and Horseshoe Rapids Recreation Site.
