Golden COTR campus welcomes new manager
College of the Rockies (COTR) President Michael Crowe is pleased to welcome Scott Fortier to the role of manager of the Golden campus.
“Scott brings an impressive track record of leadership in both the education and healthcare sectors,” Crowe said.
“His expertise in health education, curriculum development, and system-wide quality improvement — combined with his existing connection to the Golden community – will be a tremendous asset to the college and the Columbia Valley region as he helps guide the campus into the future.”
Fortier is currently completing a Master of Education in Distance Education. Prior to joining the college, he held senior positions with Alberta Health Services and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).
“Collaboration and strategic vision are at the heart of my approach, and I am excited about collaborating and working with the Golden business community and municipality to improve the community’s access to and utilization of the Golden campus,” Fortier said.
“Even before this opportunity arose, my family and I had been part-time residents and began building our home here about a year ago — a reflection of how deeply we value this community. Stepping into this role feels like a natural extension of that commitment.”
Fortier began his role of Campus Manager on July 7.
