IFF unveils upcoming festival lineup
The Invermere Film Festival (IFF) has officially announced the film lineup for the 2026 festival, taking place January 29 – February 1.
This year’s festival brings together powerful storytelling, award-winning cinema, and unforgettable shared experiences – all right here in the Columbia Valley. From inspiring documentaries to moving dramas and crowd-pleasing features, this lineup celebrates films from Canada and beyond.
2026 Film Lineup
Marty Supreme (2025)
Opening Night – Thursday, January 29 at 5:30 p.m.
Kick off the festival in style with our Opening Night film, followed by an Opening Night Party after the screening. Starring Timothée Chalamet, whose performance earned him a Golden Globe award, Marty Supreme sets the tone for an unforgettable weekend of cinema and community.
Lilith Fair: Building a Mystery (2025)
Friday, January 30 at 2 p.m.
A powerful Canadian documentary exploring Sarah McLachlan’s groundbreaking all-women festival that shaped the industry and amplified women’s voices around the world. Features behind the scenes of the music festival – and interviews with performers including Bonnie Raitt, Erykah Badu, Olivia Rodrigo, and Emmylou Harris.
Hamnet (2025)
Friday, January 30 at 6:30 p.m.
A beautifully crafted and emotionally rich adaptation of the acclaimed novel, weaving love, loss, and legacy into an unforgettable cinematic experience. This film has received significant international attention, including Golden Globe recognition.
Meadowlarks (2025)
Saturday, January 31 at 1 p.m.
The film tells the story of four Cree siblings separated through Canada’s notorious Sixties Scoop, which saw indigenous children taken from their homes to be adopted by white families. Excited and curious, but also scared and afraid of rejection, they agree to meet for the first time. This heartfelt and intimate story grounded in place, community, and the quiet power of human connection is filmed in and around Golden, Banff, and Canmore, bringing familiar landscapes to the big screen. Following the screening there will be a keynote speaker, Q&A and taste of Ktunaxa.
Sentimental Value (2025)

A thoughtful, character-driven international film that explores memory, relationships, and the meaning we attach to the past. This moving feature was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
Wild Life (2023)
Sunday, February 1 at 2 p.m.
Wild Life follows conservationist Kris Tompkins on an epic, decades-spanning love story as wild as the landscapes she dedicated her life to protecting. After falling in love in mid-life, Kris and the outdoorsman and entrepreneur Doug Tompkins left behind the world of the massively successful outdoor brands they’d helped pioneer like Patagonia, The North Face, and Esprit, and turned their attention to a visionary effort to create National Parks throughout Chile and Argentina. “Wild Life” chronicles the highs and lows of their journey to effect the largest private land donation in history.
One Battle After Another (2025)
Closing night – Sunday, February 1 at 6:30 p.m.
Our closing night film is a gripping and timely exploration of resilience, conflict, and perseverance. Featuring an exceptional cast including Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn, the film has received major international recognition, including Golden Globe awards, making it a powerful finale to the festival.
